Currently, this university has three campuses. The main campus (1300 hectares) is located on the southern tip of the city of Varanasi. It has six institutes, 14 faculties and about 140 departments. The second campus of the university is located at 2700 hectares on hills called Barkachha in the Mirzapur district, where animal husbandry, medicine and agriculture are mainly taught. The university has about 80 residences, which calls it the largest residential university in Asia.
