The hearing in the National Herald corruption case was postponed to Rouse Avenue Court on Saturday. The next trial of this case is now scheduled on October 18. The case is based on a complaint filed by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, in which he made serious allegations against the leaders of Congress. Swami claims that the National Herald Company of 2 thousand crore calls was obtained for only 50 lakh calls. They called it illegal and fraud. Subramanian Swamy, in his petition, demanded a criminal trial against congressional Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and other senior congressional leaders. He claimed that through this agreement the ally of the congress part, young Indian, illegally captured the properties of National Herald. In this case, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi received bail from the court. It is noteworthy that the National Herald newspaper was founded in 1938 by Jawaharlal Nehru. This newspaper was published by Associated Journal Limited (AJL). It had to be stopped after the financial crisis in 2008, from where the dispute began. In 2010, you became a company called Young India Private Limited (Yil), in which Sonia and Rahul Gandhi have a 38-38 percent stake. The BJP leader Subramanian Swamy claimed in 2012 that Young India Private Limited AJL’s properties worth more than Rs 2,000 crore for just Rs 50 Lakh and accused them of being fraud and money laundering. The case also went to court and later the ED began his investigation. The ED investigation revealed that young Indians benefited from the Gandhi family, AJL’s assets of Rs 2000 received crore for only Rs 50 lakh, while their market price was much higher. In November 2023, Ed seized immovable properties of about Rs 661 crore and AJL shares worth Rs 90.2 crore, which was allegedly regarded as the revenue of crime.
