The Doctor of Political Science UI has conveyed the success of China in accelerating emissions and improving air quality in an important lesson for Indonesia. “In ten years, China has managed to add days with ‘good’ air quality from 13 days to 300 days. This achievement to be followed by Indonesia,” he continued. According to him, China also implemented different policies to improve the quality of the air. One of them has developed China renewable energy sources to replace the generation of coal -fired power plant in densely populated areas. “At this meeting, we also have views on how coal -fired power plants in China have decreased in this decade,” he continued. “From starting to 67 percent, the use of coal -fired power plants dropped to 53 percent,” he continued. Furthermore, Eddy said the use of fossil energy with renewable energy in China is now balanced. “In the future, they will further develop the development of renewable energy, especially in the fields of diesel, wind and hydro,” he added. He said Indonesia and China also coordinated to follow up the discussion related to cooperation for dealing with air pollution. “There is also a band and road green collaboration, which is a green collaboration initiated by the Chinese government, which will also be useful if we are active in different discussions, dialogues and talks on this forum,” he said. He also emphasized that it is a learning for us to pick China’s experience and success in transformation, both the energy transition or the aspect of environmental management. According to Eddy, Indonesia can mimic China in this regard. Furthermore, Eddy said the two countries could exchange ideas. For example, in terms of carbon trading, Indonesia is currently trying to increase its capacity. “We can therefore jointly exchange ideas and exchange experiences so that Indonesia can perfect different rules and policies in the carbon industry that has a great economic potential to develop in the future,” the member of the Indonesian parliament in the city of Bogor and Cianjur concluded.
