India United Developing Countries by Modern Technology: Experts
New -Delhi, April 16 (IANS). Former Ambassador of India in the European Union and the United Nations, Manjeev Singh Puri said on Wednesday that India uses modern technology to bridge the gap of geographical borders and bring developing countries closer. Puri said with Ians in the sidelines of the Economic Corridor (IMEC) Conclave 2025 in the National Capital of India-Midil Eastern European that India is the fifth largest economy in the world and is on the way to become the third largest economy. This initiative is not just about business. It is about creating a better world using green and modern technology to connect continents and people, which will have both sides of economic benefits. At the same time, in the event, he said that Europe is one of the major economic and trade partners of India. IMEC projects launched by Premier Narendra Modi during the G20 chairmanship of India in 2023 are seen as a strategic step in response to the growing global disruption. According to the Director General of Risk Director Sachin Chaturvededi, “some countries are aimed at providing chain to get competitive benefits, causing the trade in India. IMC is India’s way of tackling these challenges and to ensure stability.” He told Ians: “This initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during India’s chairmanship of the G20 in 2023 is India’s answer to address these challenges.” Experts believe that IMEC is a transformational idea, more than just an infrastructure project. Savitribai Phule Pune University Professor Emeritus Dr. Seshadri Chari said that more than 100 ports and more than 80 countries could be linked to IMEC. The project may affect 80 percent of the world population. “It combines the world’s first and fourth largest economies and makes India a global trading center,” he told Ians. Chari said IMEC is a unique and transformative initiative that could bring about a radical change in the trade between Asia, the UAE and Europe.
