Sam Altman says Openai has better AI models than GPT-5, but that can't release it yet. Here's why
Openai released its best AI model last week, GPT-5, during a live event. It is said that the new model shows improvements in many areas, including accuracy, reasoning, coding, writing, health and multimodal abilities, while also reducing hallucinations (which arise things) and Sycophancy (too much pleasant). However, Openai CEO Sam Altman said the chatgpt manufacturer has better models, but still can’t offer it due to a lack of capacity. “We have to make these horrible exchanges right now,” Altman told The Verge. “We have better models, and we just can’t offer them because we don’t have the capacity. We have other types of new products and services we would like to offer. ‘ He added that in the near future, Openai plans to spend ‘trillions of dollars’ on the construction of data centers to address these infrastructure challenges. Altman’s remarks come amid criticism of Openai’s ugly introduction of GPT-5, with some users expressing frustration on social media about the lack of emotional depth and short answers from the AI model. Despite the setback, Altman said Chatgpt was now a new high after the launch of the GPT-5 and the site is now the fifth largest website in the world. According to him, the AI-Chatbot is on a ‘clear road’ to catch up to Instagram and Facebook to become the third largest website worldwide, although it can be more challenging to exceed Google. Earlier this year, Openai faced a shortage of GPU, which forced the company to reduce image generation limits, even for the payment of users after the Studio Ghibli-style image trend after the introduction of the GPT-4O’s image generator. Although the new model discussed by Altman is another time away, the open head revealed that the company plans to develop additional independent programs outside of Chatgpt, which may include an AI-powered social media app. Altman also confirmed that Openai plans to finance Merge Labs, a brain-computer interface stark that competes directly with Elon Musk’s neuralink. Earlier this year, Openai announced that he was working with former Apple designer Jony Ive to develop a new AI device. It is someone’s guess at this point what this device will be and whether chatgpt will be in the middle of the user experience.
