Shimla Panchayats suffer from the construction of Fourlane

During a joint visit to the Panchayats affected by the National Highway Authority officials and Gram Panchayat representatives, the ongoing preliminary construction work emerged as a major concern for the Panchayats people to throw damage and threats to the homes, ruining in the bush. Joint teams visit Kaitalighat’s concerned Panchayats until the last section of Kalka-Shimla Fourlane. Joint teams today visited three Panchayats, Kot, Pujari and Mehli and heard the complaints of the people of these Panchayats. Hiranand Shandil, former head of the Village Panchayat Kot, said: “There were three perennial natural waterfalls in our town, but they dried up after the tunnel construction. It is clear that water has changed due to the tunnel.” He said: “This water was used to irrigate and drink vegetables. Now people don’t have enough water in town.” Another person from the Panchayat said that the forerunner had passed between their home and the farm and that there was no way to reach their farm. In Pujari Panchayat, people claim that ‘random construction’ has their pastures and fields at risk. A school building collapsed, a house fell into cracks and mud is filled in the field of people living near the drain. A woman points to the land removed in a deep ditch and says, “Far from the loss, the officials who work on the ground and their people do not even listen to us.” Kuldeep Tanwar, president of the Himachal Kisan Sabha, who is also part of the joint team, said that the harvest and dumping of the hills affects both the ecology and the existence of humans. Tanwar said: “During these tours, people bring their specific problems to the attention of Nhai. Also problems that can be resolved at this level are solved.” Share this story -tags
