The measles in the region of Europe recorded the highest level in 25 years in 2024

An analysis conducted by the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) and published on Thursday showed that the number of measles was doubled in the European region during the year 2024, compared to the previous year, which brought the number to the highest level in more than 25 years. Europe contains 53 countries in Europe and Central Asia. The World Health Organization said in a statement that children under the age of five formed more than 40% from 127,350 cases of them last year in the region. “The measles are back, and it’s a warning bell. Without high vaccination rates there is no health security,” says Hans Henry, regional director of the World Health Organization in Europe. The measles cases have said worldwide that the World Health Organization occurred in November last year around 10.3 million measles injury in 2023, a 20% increase against the census of 2022, pointing out that it is insufficient reinforcement worldwide. Measles can be prevented with two doses of the measles vaccine, but more than 22 million children missed their first dose of measles vaccine in 2023. At the world level, an estimated 83% of children received their first dose of measles vaccine in 2023, while only 74% received the recommended second dose. Vaccination of measles and due to global gaps in the cover of vaccination, 57 countries saw a major outbreak, or a destroyer in the year 2023, which had all regions, except for the Americas, an increase of about 60% in the previous year. The World Health Organization areas in Africa, the Eastern Midland Sea, Europe, Southeast Asia and the Western Pacific have seen a significant increase in cases. The organization says that almost half of all large and devastating outbreaks have taken place in the African region. The new data shows that an estimated 107 thousand and 500 people, most of their children under the age of 5, died in 2023.
