Nanar Nagendran's attack on Stalin: 'It is wrong to call Governor a postman'

Dindigul (Tamil Nadu), April 20 (IANS). Tamil Nadu BJP State President Nanar Nagendran targeted Chief Minister MK Stalin and said it is absolutely wrong to call the governor a ‘mailman’. He insisted that the governor be a constitutional position, which acknowledges both central and state governments. His statement came in a conversation with reporters while visiting the Palani Murugan Temple. Nanar was accompanied by senior BJP leader H. Raja. Nanar Nagendran recently became the state president of BJP. He arrived on a Palani tour for the first time. He visited Lord Murugan in the famous Murugan Temple in Palani. Then he went to the Hill Temple via Tou Road and worshiped the Thundayuthbani Swami there. During this time he was warmly welcomed by local BJP workers. Together with Nanar, H. Raja and other BJP leaders also visited the temple. Nanar Nagendran spoke to reporters and objected to Stalin’s statement in which he described the governor as a ‘postman’ between the central and state governments. Nanar said: “The post of governor is constitutional and respectful. This statement by Stalin makes his dignity harmed. The chief minister must choose his words carefully.” He said that the governor is an important connection between the center and the state and that his role is not appropriate to underestimate. The purpose of this tour was not only religious, but also to strengthen the organization at the local level of the BJP. In Palani, Nanar and H. Raja met the workers and discussed the upcoming strategies. After the Temple Darshan, the two leaders left to attend an important meeting that will be held in Dindigul. Many large leaders of the Tamil Nadu unit of BJP will participate in this meeting. -Ians shk/kr share this story tags
