International Yoga Day 2025: India moves to 'One Earth, One Health'
New -Delhi, June 20 (IANS). Yoga is the ancient cultural heritage of India, which today has become a symbol of health and balance for the whole world. International Yoga Day, which is celebrated every year on June 21, has become a festival that connects people not only to India but also worldwide. It empowers the message of India containing the spirit of ‘I Earth, one health’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed to declare United Nations General Assembly as International Yoga Day on June 21, 2014. The proposal was passed on December 11, 2014 with the support of 193 countries and 173 co-provision. After this, this day is celebrated every year as the Mahaparva of Yoga all over the world since 2015. Since 2015, the theme of International Yoga Day and the main event in the country is as follows – 2015 – Yoga for Hormonie and Peace: The first yoga day was celebrated on the Rajpath of New Delhi led by the Premier Modi, which 35,985 people participated and two gins. World records were, which was 35,985 people the participation of citizens of 84 countries. 2016 – Yoga for achieving SDGs: More than 30,000 people participated in Chandigarh under the guidance of the prime minister. For the first time, yoga awards were announced and special attention was paid to yoga and diabetes. 2017 – Health Yoga: 51,000 People attended Ramabai Ambedkar Maidan in Lucknow. The international conference on ‘Yoga for Wellness’ was held in New Delhi, which includes 600 delegates from 44 countries. 2018 – Yoga for Peace: More than 65,000 people participated in the big events in Dehradun and Delhi. About 9.59 Crore people did yoga across the country. Organizations were also arranged in heritage sites such as Qutub Minar. 2019 – Heart Yoga: The main event took place in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, in which Premier Modi did yoga with 30,000 people. Programs were held in each district and 150 countries in India. Yoga events were also arranged at the world’s famous sites such as Eiffel Tower, Opera House and Mount Everest Base Camp. 2020 and 2021 -In the corona period, ‘yoga by Ghar, Yoga with Family’ and ‘Yoga for Wellness’: Kovid -19 was a series of virtual events. Videos of the general yoga protocol have been made available in 22 Indian languages, six languages from the United Nations and nine foreign languages. 12.06 Crore in the year 2020 and 15.68 crore in 2021 participated. 2022 – Yoga for Mankind: Yoga reaches 22.13 Crore in the country and 125 Crore people worldwide. Yoga sessions were held on 75 heritage sites. A 24 -hour global yoga ring also ran under ‘one sun, one earth’. 2023 – Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: There was a record participation of 23.14 Crore people. Prime Minister Modi has set a Guinness record by doing yoga at the United Nations headquarters. Participation from citizens of more than 135 countries. In Surat, more than one Lakh people made a world record by doing yoga together. There were innovations such as the ocean ring of yoga and yoga from Arctic to Antarctica. 2024 Joga for self and society: The prime minister led the yoga session at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Center in Srinagar. 24.53 Crore people participated and many new world records were made. 2025 – Yoga for one earth, one health: On June 21, 2025, the 11th International Yoga Day is celebrated on the theme ‘I Earth, One Health’. This year’s main event will be held in Yoga Sangam Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will do yoga with people across the country under the usual yoga protocol from 06:30 to 19:45. Yoga will be done simultaneously in more than one lakh sites in the country. This year, 10 special signature events will also be arranged, including participation of different ministries, organizations and international representatives.
