On Thursday, 58 people died on a single day due to bad weather in Bihar. 23 people died due to lightning, while 35 others died in the storm -related accidents, including heavy rain and deaths from trees and walls during strong winds. According to the information, the district most affected was Nalanda, where 22 people lost their lives due to strong wind points. The storm killed one person each in Bhojpur (5 deaths), Gaya (3 deaths) and Gopalganj, Jehanabad, Patna, Arwal and Muzaffarpur. 23 people died due to lightning alone, in which 4 people died in Siwan. There were 3 deaths in Jamui, while Saharsa, Araria and Saran had 2-2 deaths. One death was reported in Patna, Jehanabad, Bhojpur, Darbhanga, Arwal, Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur, Munger, Katihar and Bhagalpur. The incident occurred a day after the death of 25 people due to lightning in eight districts Bihar. Most of the dead were farmers and daily wage workers who were working on agricultural work in the midst of changing weather. Earlier, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar mourned the deaths and announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 4-4 Lakh to the families of the deceased.
