In a move that excited Hindi Cinema fans, Rani Mukerji will allegedly be reunited with Shah Rukh Khan on the screen after a 19-year gap, the much-awaited action thriller directed by Siddharth Anand. The film, which already boasts an impressive ensemble, will begin on May 20. SRK, Rani Mukerji, to reunite: reported reports by Pinkvilla, Mukerji as the mother of the character of Suhana Khan, and her role will be an integral part of the emotional bow of the film. Mukerji’s character is described far from a volatile Como as ‘The Heart of King, which leads to the emotional depth’ of the story. The report further expands: “It was a no-brainer for Rani to say yes to Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand’s offer for King. She heard the part and immediately agreed to board the film.” The importance of this cast lies not only in the nostalgic reunion of two beloved stars that the screen last shared in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), but also in Mukerji’s return to the cinema to a short hiatus. Her last appearance was in the 2023 drama Mrs. Chatterjee against Norway.
