Now that the Donnie Yen-Led Adaptation is no more, the McU star has his sights set on the project.
It turns out almost every Marvel Star is now kept in the dark about future mcu plans. Why are the stars of the movies not allowed to know what’s happening? Well, it’s because of two unreliably spoiler-filled actors: Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo, who both have a history of revealing major MCU details. “I mean, they would not tell us anything because Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo child of ruined it for all of us,” Liu joked. “Now they don’t tell anyone.” As Simu Liu didnn’t know who else would be in the movie, he was just as surprised by the return of the X-Men. Will we get ‘shang-chi 2’ after ‘Avengers: Doomsday’?
To many fans, it felt like Marvel Studios had forgotten about poor old shang-chi, as the character has not been as much as names-checked since his standalone movie. Thankfully, the character’s future is now confirmed. But, fans still want to know if and when Shang-Chi 2 will be released.
Audiences are hoping that his appearance in Avengers: Doomsday Will reignite interest in a sequel. Providing he survives the events of Avengers: Doomsday (Many fans online think most of the large cast will be the hands of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom), there is still so much to be explored with shang-chi’s character, and the mythology and world that he brings to the mcu. Avengers: Doomsday is currently slated to release in theaters on May 2, 2026. Production has officially begun.
