Reinforcement Box, the Minister of Home Affairs, is asking the local government in Southeast Sulawesi to turn on private MSMEs
Jakarta -Indonesian Home Affairs Minister (Minister of Home Affairs) Muhammad Tito Karnavian has the importance of the role of micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) together with the private sector in strengthening regional original income (road) in the southeast sulawesi province (Southeast) and on the district/city level. In addition, the data shows that the fiscal structure of the local government (Pemda) in the Southeast Sulawesi region is still dominated by transfer of the central government, with the achievements of road that is not optimal. “Well, the point is that Southeast Sulawesi is dominated by the central transfer from the profile we saw. Pad is only the provincial and Kendari city level that is quite decent,” Tito said in a written statement Wednesday (8/27/2025). According to Tito, the dependence is a challenge. In addition, most central transfers are used for employee and operational expenses, in addition to fulfilling basic service standards such as health and education. “That’s why I said earlier, the point is that it should turn on the private sector, MSMEs, micro, that is, including big investors should be given conveniently. Southeastern Sulwesi will never be able to jump, it dares to guarantee, if the original revenue of the region does not rise through the central transfer,” Tito says. Tito explained that road’s achievements that could exceed the central transfer would be a great sign of progress for Southeast Sulawesi. Conversely, the low path shows that the private sector is not developed and must be moved. Therefore, the regional government must be active in establishing communication with cadin, hearing the needs of business people and discussing the potential of the region that can be developed. “The key is to revive the private sector. Now, to revive this private sector, in my opinion, their entrepreneurial business instincts, there are channels, there are organizations, Kadin,” Tito said. “Utilizes Kadin as much as possible from Kadin, it should provide them comfortable for dialogue,” he added. Tito emphasizes the importance of the local government to hear the ideas of entrepreneurs who are members of Kadin. Various potential owned by Southeast Sulawesi, both from the agricultural, plantation and service sector, must be turned on. Furthermore, it must be supported by government policies that provide growth for the business world. “Well, then it is supported by the policy that the government has as policy holders, policymakers. Either incentives, or the name is the ease of consent as quickly as possible, which the entrepreneur is requested, as long as the gang rules, fast,” Tito said.
