Google Play Store adds a 'sidekick' of twins to provide you with real -time assistance during games
Google Play Store gets a big renovation with the addition of several AI-powered features, a redesigned apps tab, improved playing game service and better tools to help discover programs. The highly talked about features with the new update is the addition of Gemini live during games with the Sidekick feature. This feature brings a new consultation. Sidekick is a new in-game overlay that allows users to take a screenshot, take up their screen, stream their game on YouTube and other options while playing their game. The main feature in this menu is the option for Gemini Live, which allows users to activate the AI assistant to ask for support during the game. The feature should work similar to the Gemini Live feature on the Gemini app, which allows users to open their camera and ask questions about their environment, but it is still seen how many of a help Gemini can be during direct games. Google’s official description of the feature reads: “Sidekick sets and organizes relevant game information and provides direct access to Gemini live for real -time guidance so you can stay in the game.” Another pain point in this process may be that most OEMs like Vivo, Oppo or OnePlus pack their phones with a dedicated game mode that appears during the game. This means that users have to disable Sidekick or OEM’s game mode if they do not want two pop-ups to take space on their phone. Other changes to Google Play Store: Google also introduces a new “You” TAB on the Play Store, which will include data such as benefits, subscriptions, recommendations, statistics and updates to make it easier for users to manage and discover content on their devices. Apart from the game, the “You” TAB also allows users to discover content on their other interests and programs, such as custom audience or podcast -recommendations. Google also brings a gamer profile to the Play Store that allows users to easily detect statistics and achievements on games and devices. Users will also be able to adjust their profiles by creating Gen AI-based avatars to express their personality. After being in beta for more than three years, Google Play Games will now generally be available and work on mobile and computer games with support for over 200,000 titles. The “You” tab and the integrated game platform start rolling out this week to Select Play Points Markets, and additional countries will be added from 1 October.
