Ashoka University Professor Sonipat released on bail from District Prison
The associate professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad of the University of Ashoka, who allegedly commented on Operation Sindoor, was released from the Sonepat district on Thursday night. The Director General of the Haryana Police General (DGP) formed a special investigative team (Sit) of three members (SIT) chaired by the Additional Director General of the Police (ADGP) Crime and Police, Sonepat Mamta Singh to investigate two cases registered in the Rai police station in accordance with the order of the Supreme Court. Two members of Sit are two IPS officials – Ganga Ram Punia, SP, Karnal and Vikrant Bhushan, SP, Special Task Force (STF), Gurugram. The Supreme Court granted interim bail to Mahmudabad on Wednesday. Professor’s advocates started legal action for his release on Thursday. Chief Law Magistrate Neha Goyal ordered the release after producing bail mortgages and two gardeners in court. Kapil Dev Balyan, lawyer of Mahmudabad, said the court approved the bail of the professor on condition of a beadable mortgage of Rs 1 Lakh and two bails. After appropriate documents, the release of the Sonipat district reached at about 4:30 pm. Mahmudabad was released from the district prison at about 5pm. Share this story -tags
