Police of two states looking for burning bus driver and helper
Raghav Kumar Kushwaa, the then Divisional Inspector (RI) of Gorakhpur, was suspended on Friday in connection with the death of five passengers due to a bus fire on the Kisan road of Lucknow. Initial investigation revealed that the fitness certificate of the bus from Gorakhpur was released on April 8, 2024 under the Annavier fitness system based on the photo without physical verification. Neither the seat layout or the emergency gates were in line with AIS-119 standards. Raghav Kumar Kushwaa was suspended based on serious negligence and disregard of rules. Raghav is currently placed in Bareilly. A departmental investigation was also started against Raghav. The case is being investigated by the Varanasi division transport officer Shikhar Ojha. The investigation report of the case must be submitted within three months. RTO (Administration) Shikhar Ojha informed that an investigative committee was compiled at the state level. A sleeve was signed with IIT Kharagpur for traffic safety. Police have not yet been able to arrest the driver and conductor in the event of fire in the sleeping bus near Hariksgarhi on Kisan path in Mohanlalganj. The accused was identified as the bus driver Ramshankar Yadav and conductor Nekaj. Both their cell phones are closed. According to ACP Mohanlalganj Rajneesh Verma, two police teams were formed. One team camp in Begusarai and the other in Delhi. The accused is identified with the help of supervision. Some closest co -workers of the accused were also questioned. The cause of the fire will be known after the arrest of the accused. Police will question the accused that he did not wake the passengers at the time of the fire and run away from the scene. In this incident, two innocent children of Sitamarhi in Bihar and five people, including mother-daughter of Samastipur, were burned alive. Ram Balak, a resident of Sitamarhi in Bihar, has lodged a case of culpable homicide against the bus driver, conductor and the owner of a travel point agency at the Mohanlalganic police station.
