9 ABK Indonesian citizens who have been trapped on the ship in Mozambik for almost a year
Jakarta – Nine Indonesian citizens (WNI) who work as a crew (ABK) on Falcon gas ships can now breathe freely. After almost a year trapped in ships in the waters of Mozambik, the Indonesian citizen’s crew is currently successfully removed from the ship. “Thank God, the change of crew went smoothly. All crew members were healthy,” the Indonesian ambassador to Mozambik and Malawi, Kartika Candra Negara, told reporters on Monday. The nine crew members have been on the Falcon tanker since August and October 2024. In total, there were 12 people trapped on the ship, three of whom were citizens were. Currently they are at the Indonesian embassy in Mozambik and are waiting for the return schedule. “We got off the ship today (Sunday, September 24, 2025). Our condition is in good health,” he said. “We are on land and we are currently at the ambassador and his staff,” Arias continued.
