CBIC has issued revised guidelines for processing GST registration

New -Delhi, April 18 (IANS). The Central Council of Indirect Tax and Customs (CBIC) issued revised instructions to officials on Friday for the processing of GST registration applications, this will reduce the burden of compliance with taxpayers and increase rules and based transparency. This step of government is seen as an attempt to facilitate matters. During the GST registration process, the revenue section (CBIC) received several complaints about the problems facing the applicants. These complaints were mainly with additional documents that the officials sought during the GST registration process. CBIC has issued new guidelines to correct complaints and facilitate GST registration process. The Ministry of Finance said: “Officials were instructed to strictly follow the prescribed list of documents given in the registration application form. In the new instructions, the new instructions also provide information on the necessary documents that must be charged with the registration application in the event of specific cases.” The government agency instructed the officials not to issue notifications on the basis of small contradictions or additional documents that are not required for the processing of applications. In addition, the government agency said that in specific cases it was also aimed at asking for approval from the relevant Deputy/Assistant Commissioner, where other documents should be sought differently, except the listed documents. The chief commissioners were notified by the government agency to monitor them where necessary and develop the system to issue the necessary trade notices. It was also recommended that strict steps be taken against the officials who violate these instructions. The ministry said: “It will facilitate further ease in the process of obtaining GST registration, reducing the compliance burden and doing the ease of business.” -Ians ABS/ Share This Story Tags
