The Indian government has launched Operation Sindhu to vacate Indian citizens from Iran, given the deteriorating situation as a result of the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. During the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, India launched Operation Samudra Setu to bring back citizens stranded abroad. In 2015, amid civil conflict in Yemen, the government launched Operation Raahat to vacate Indian citizens. In 2011, it was further back, in 2011, Operation Safe Homecoming was carried out to save Indians who were trapped in Libya in Libya during the Arab Spring.
