Omar Abdullah's witty answer to Kapil Sibal to Donald Trump's mediation claim: 'Unable to friendship with Musk and ...' | Today news
Jammu and Kashmir’s chief minister, Omar Abdullah, noted that if US President Trump could not support a friendship with his friend (Elon Musk), it is unrealistic to expect him to deal with India reasonably. Abdullah referred to Trump’s repeated allegations that he played a key role in the India-Pakistan frightening concept after four days of military action last month in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. “They (Pakistan) faced huge losses (in operation Sindoor). That’s why they asked us DGMO to stop it,” Omar said while talking to Kapil Sibal in the former Union Minister’s #DilSewithkapilsibal YouTube program. Sibal replied and said he would ask questions about Trump Sahab’s mediation claims in parliament. Former Union Minister Sibal is a Rajya Sabha member of Parliament. Omar continued and said: “Trump Sahab Jo APNE Doston Ke Saatheh Dosti Nahi Nibhata, who Humare Saath Kya Nibhayega (Mr. Trump who couldn’t maintain a friendship with his friend (Elon Musk), it is unrealistic to expect him to deal with India).” The chief minister may have referred to the recent public feud between Tesla chief Elon Musk and Donald Trump over TV interviews and X -posts after Musk left his government role and criticized the Republican Party’s new proposal for tax bill. On June 11, however, billionaire Elon Musk posted on his social media platform X and expressed regret about some of his posts on President Trump. Donald Trump’s mediation claims as many as 26 people were killed and several others injured in the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22. Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 with a view to terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir in Pakistan. Pakistan again has retaliation in civilian areas. However, the two countries decided to stop military action on May 10. Trump said at 5.25 hours on May 10 that India and Pakistan agreed to a ‘complete and immediate’ ceasefire after a ‘long night of talks’ mediated by the United States. Minutes later, the ceasefire was confirmed by both India’s Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Pakistan. However, India contradicted Trump’s allegation, saying that the two countries were “understanding” after discussions between the Director General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan. Mr. Trump who couldn’t maintain a friendship with his friend (Elon Musk) is unrealistic to expect him to deal with India reasonably. In his subsequent posts, Trump also suggested that they improve trade relations with both India and Pakistan, and apparently utilize its ongoing global trade negotiations to achieve some influence on the complex dynamics between the two South Asian countries. This has created a political drive in India with the congress demanding answers or the government accepted third-party mediation at Kashmir after the US made announcements on behalf of India and Pakistan.
