the average hopeless romantic experience
a yearning so sublime
that it tears the very skin off my bones
there is an itch
to touch
to grab
to claim what is mine
what has always been mine
to know you are here
for me
all for me
just for me
and i let it all out
the happiness i feel
as i feel your hand brush my back
a phantom touch
but one that startles me out of my stupor
enough to remember that i am not alone
not anymore
and i never will be again
