According to the report of the Xinhua news agency, Fankham Vipavan at the National Assembly (NA) in his speech, he said he resigned from the post of Prime Minister due to retirement age and health problems. Fankham, who was born in 1951, was elected Lao’s Prime Minister in March 2021. He also served as the Vice President, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Laos Teaching, the provincial governor of Huanfan. The Na Meeting also approved the nomination of President Thonglaun Sisaulith, Sifandon was nominated as the new prime minister, with 149 votes out of 151 votes with an overwhelming majority.
