How to visit Amarnath

Amarnath Yatra is a sacred and exciting journey for the dedicated of Lord Shiva. It is a journey to the Amarnath cave in the mountains of Jammu and Kashmir. The Amarnath Yatra takes place every year in the months of July August. The dates of travel change each year, so go to the official website of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) and look at the information related to the trip. You will not get permission to travel without registration. You can register online on the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board website or by going to some banks across the country. For registration, you need an Aadhaar card, passport size photo and a mandatory health certificate from a doctor. This journey goes through height and cold areas, so it is very important that the body is fit. Walk 4-5 kilometers of at least one month every day before starting the trip. If you do not want to travel on foot, you can go by helicopter from Neelgrath or Pahalgam to Panjtarni. A walk about 2-6 kilometers from Panjatrani must be traveled to the cave.
