The Maharashtra government has officially approved a new post in the Mumbai police department. Now Mumbai police will get another joint commissioner (intelligence section), who is the sixth post, who oversees intelligence, including tracking the sleeper. The Maharashtra government made this decision after the military conflict in India-Pakistan and the terror attack in Pahalgam. According to the government proposal (GR) issued, Mumbai is the financial capital of India, and the operation of the intelligence section becomes very important as there are many risks to threat in the city, and it is home to many VIPs and important individuals. The President, Vice President, Prime Minister of India and many other prominent personalities also come to Mumbai from time to time. Therefore, the Maharashtra government first considered the erection of the post of the Joint Police Commissioner, the intelligence division, which is now formally approved. With this decision, a new post called Joint Police Commissioner-Khufia will be added to Mumbai police setup. According to sources, the most important role of this department is to strengthen the intelligence network and is responsible for collecting intelligence information based on sleep cell activities or danger perceptions and monitoring terrorism or danger -related activities in the city through analysis.
