These five historical events would not have been studied at school
Trending 1. Goa Mukti Movement (1947–1961) was up to 14 years after independence under Portugal. In 1961 it was mixed in India under pressure from Satyagrahis and Army. But even today, the discussion in schools is very limited. 2. Navy Rebellion (1946) Royal Indian Navy Soldiers rebelled against the British. The uprising began from Mumbai and spread to different ports. It was a decisive moment in the freedom struggle, but not much learned. 3. Simon Commission Protest (1928) This commission came to India, but there was no Indian member in IT. It was opposed to the whole country. Lala Lajpat Rai died in Lathicharge. Its severity and results are underestimated in schools. 4. The Police in Hyderabad (1948) Nizam Hyderabad was in protest march against India, after which the army had to be sent. This was done under the name ‘Operation Polo’. Despite such a big incident, it is not in the curriculum. 5. Attempt to become an independent nation of the State Travancore (1947) after independence, the Diwan of Travancore CP Ramaswamy Iyer was against the merger in India.
