Campaign to make women confident, livelihood, PNB and Bihar government close hands
This financial inclusion program was organized in collaboration with Jeevika, Punjab National Bank (PNB) and the Department of Rural Development of the Government of Bihar. Jeevika CEO Himanshu Sharma, senior officer of the Punjab National Bank and other officials were present at the event. The purpose of this initiative is to provide loan assistance to women related to self -aid groups (SHG) in the state to develop livelihood activities. So that they can become financially self -sufficient. In terms of this banking program, loans of Rs 150 crore were provided to self -help groups. The particular thing is that this collaboration is no longer limited to group level, but that Jeevika and Punjab National Bank also offer personal loan facilities. From this initiative, women who want to start a special business independently can now receive loans from the bank on personal level. With this, women are given the opportunity to implement their livelihood plans on a large scale. In addition, Jeevika Didi provided funds to run the customer service center. Checks of two Lakh calls were provided to the dependents of two beneficiaries who utilized the insurance scheme. In this order, the Lakhpati Didi Yojana was mainly discussed. The purpose of this scheme is to increase the annual income of each woman in livelihood by £ 1 or more. Bank connection becomes a strong way to achieve this goal. In collaboration with Punjab National Bank, adequate financial resources are provided for their income growth plans. Special training, market connection facilities and favorable financial aid are provided to the selected Didi under Lakhpati Didi program. In addition, they move beyond basic livelihood activities and move to micro entrepreneurship. Loan schemes supported by Punjab National Bank appear to be helpful in making these sisters as strong entrepreneurs. During the program, three members of Jeevika herself helped Group, Baby Ranjan, Manisha Devi and Shobha Devi, shared their experiences, saying that she became a millionaire today by taking loans from the group and bank. Himanshu Sharma, CEO of Jeevika, addressed the program, saying that it is the initiative of the Honorable Chief Minister of Bihar that he started the Jeevika project. Financial inclusion is not limited to the opening of a bank account. It is a process for women to improve their life and future. Our partnership with institutions such as Punjab National Bank is a milestone in this direction. Through this project, an amount of more than 12 thousand crore calls was provided and about 60 thousand crore calls were made available to self -help groups using different banks.
