Medical student commits suicide, steps in depression before exam
An MBBS student from Kanpur, studying at Dimrarapal Medical College of Chhattisgarh (the late Baliram Kashyap Smriti Government Medical College), committed suicide by hanging himself a day before the investigation. The student has been upset and depressed by continuous failures for the past four years. The deceased student was identified as 36-year-old Gyanendra Mishra, resident of Kalyanpur housing development of Kanpur, Ambedkarpuram Sector-6. He was a 2022 group of MBBS first -year student. The family is survived by his mother Vinesh Mishra and older brother misha mishra. Father Ashok Kumar Mishra passed away in 2005. He told the brother, “Heart has problems”, while talking to his older brother on the phone on Thursday night, Gyanendra said he was in pain in his heart. His brother advised him to get an investigation, but no one was guessed that he would take such a big step. The university management reported suicide to the family on Friday morning. On Diwali himself, according to family and friends, he expressed his grief, he sold his wardrobe last year while he went home at Diwali and said, “I will not come here now, I will not be able to study.” However, the family explained to him that the opportunity of MBBS is not easily available, if you work hard, life will become life. For this reason, he returned to the university. Friends said- he lived alone, restless, classmates say he presented Prasad of Ganesh in his room on the night of the incident. At the time, Gyanendra studied alone and looked very restless. When two of his university partners reached the final year, he was still stuck in the first year. As a result, he got away from his friends. Bhai Satendra Mishra, the family’s statement, said Gyanendra had been struggling with back problems for three years, but his mother and family never put him under pressure.
