Double shock for farmers wheat crop wasted in countries, crop floating in Mandis
Accident Rain and hailstorms on Friday caused widespread damage to wheat and mustard crops in Sirsa, Rania, Nathusari Chopta and nearby towns, which upset the farmers as soon as the harvesting season began. Around 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, there was a black cloud in the sky, after which there was strong wind, heavy rain and hail. The standing crops of wheat were destroyed, while thousands of quintal wheat and mustard held in the grain mandis were drenched due to a lack of proper security. In Nathusari Chopta Mandi alone, about 22,000 quintal wheat and 6,000 quintal mustard were drenched. A similar view was also seen from Kagdana, Kutiyana and Shakkar Mandori, where the grain lay under the open air without sailing or wooden crate. As a result, wheat in rainwater drove. When they asked the officials of the market committee, they said that once the grain reached the market, it was the traders’ responsibility to save it. Farmers and locals criticized this negligence and said that due to a lack of basic systems, there was a great loss. Similar damage has been reported to standing crops in Kumhariya, Gigorani, Rampura Dhillon, Jamal, Kheri and Nathusari Kalan. Farmers are now afraid of a lack of feed, as the cut wheat crop has also deteriorated. Rania farmers Ram Kumar, Bhajan Lal and Madan Lal shared their concern, saying that many of their crops are still in the field or in the Mandis without any security. They are now demanding immediate government assistance and compensation, as the weather is still unpredictable and the air is cloudy. Its effect was not limited to the fields. There was heavy weakening in the city of Sirsa, which caused the passengers problems. Prolonged power failures also disrupted the water supply. The situation has worsened as a result of the channels already limited to the tubewells. Share this story -tags
