Tamil Nadu: CM Stalin appeals to teachers, avoiding improper pressure on children
Chennai, September 20 (IANS). Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mk Stalin on Saturday requested teachers across the state to put the students improper pressure. Instead of putting them under pressure through education and personal development, keep in mind the diverse conditions of each home. During an event organized by the school education department in Chennai, Stalin highlighted the important role of teachers in shaping the future of children. He said: “Psychological well -being and physical health are just as important as the knowledge you give. In the world of today, children often spend more time with their teachers than their parents.” The Chief Minister said that students came from different family backgrounds, from some trained families and many social and educational underprivileged groups, that teachers should play the role of ‘other parents’ by understanding the unique struggle of the students and supporting them in their development. Stalin also emphasizes the importance of preparing children for the world run by artificial intelligence (AI). He said: “Students should not accept that Google or AI can provide all answers. Teachers should help them draw a line between technology and human spirit. In addition to education, you need to establish moral values, encourage literary reading, create social awareness and make students sensitive to environment and climate change.” He emphasized innovation in education, and called on teachers to experiment with digital platforms. He said: “Just as there are many videos available on YouTube about critical thinking and problems, you must also create new materials that improve the talent of students. Your efforts will sow seed for a better tomorrow.” The chief minister requested teachers to move beyond the textbooks and establish the principles of equality and social justice in their classrooms. He said: “You must ensure that children are not influenced by caste discrimination or gender inequality. Instead, teach them the value of fairness and inclusion.” During the ceremony, Stalin launched a training program for 2,715 newly appointed teachers. Also indented 76 newly built school facilities built at a cost of Rs 122 crore. The groundstone of an estimated 263 new schools worth Rs 310 crore was laid. -Ians Sch
