In Korba, two factory employees were allegedly plagued by electric shocks and nails were drawn

Police officers said on Saturday that two ice factors employees were allegedly tortured by their employer and his employees in a shocking incident in the Korba district. The victim Abhishek Bhabi and Vinod Bhambi, both originally from the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, sustained physical abuse, including electric shocks and uprooted their nails. The incident allegedly happened in the ice factory that took place by Chhotu Gurjar in the Khaprabhatti area under the Citizens Lines police jurisdiction. According to police, these employees were rented by a contractor in the factory. On April 14, Gurjar and his colleague Mukesh Sharma both accused employees of stealing from the factory. In response, the employer allegedly took out the clothing of the employees, gave them electric shocks and uprooted their nails by force. Since then, a derivative video of these atrocities on social media, in which one of the victims faces electric shock and physical abuse. Both victims managed to escape from the factory and returned to their hometown in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. There he filed a formal complaint with the Gulabpura police station, after which police in Rajasthan registered ‘zero fir’. Under zero fir, the victims can file a complaint with any police station, regardless of the place of crime. The case was subsequently sent to Korba police for further investigation. On Friday, a case was officially registered with the Civil Lines police station in Korba, in which allegations were made against Gurjar and Sharma. One of the victims, Abhishek Bhambi, said when he asked his employer an advance of R 20,000 to pay the vehicle’s installment, he was assaulted. When the employer refused, Bhambi expressed his intention to leave the work, allegedly angry by Gurjars and Sharma, through which both workers were brutally treated. Pramod Daugan, the Civil Lines police station station officer (SHO), said: “Although no arrests have been made yet, the investigation is underway.” This incident created anger, which attracted attention to the status of workers in industrial areas and the behavior of it. Police continue the investigation into the case and have promised to take appropriate steps after the investigation is completed. As the matter comes out, it has created serious concerns about labor rights and needs more monitoring to prevent such inhuman behavior in workers in factories throughout the region.
