Rohit confirmed that he would continue to play ODI cricket and is also ready to lead the team in the World Cup in 2027. Suryakumar Yadav is currently the T20 captain of India. After Rohit’s retirement after winning the 2024 T20 World Championships, he took over the captaincy. Rohit played his last Test against Australia. Rohit led India in all three formats from 2022 to 2024 T20 World Championships. It is expected that experienced players from the Indian team will remain captain until the tour of England, but allegedly said he would not lead the team in England, after which he decided to leave the format.
