Teenage Girls Body found in sheltered car registered with singer D4VD
A decomposed body found in an impounded Tesla in Los Angeles has been identified as that of a teenage girl who went missing last year. Several local news stores reported that the vehicle was registered with singer D4VD, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, 20, nor his representatives nor police responded to requests for comment. The authorities did not involve D4VD in her death. Celeste Rivas, 15, was found dead in the vehicle, the Medical Investigator in Los Angeles County confirmed Wednesday. Officials did not determine her cause of death. The body was discovered at a drag at Hollywood on September 8 after someone noticed a Tesla stench, police said according to News stores. In a statement, the medical investigator’s office said the body was ‘severely decomposed’. “She seems to have died in the vehicle for a long time before she was found,” officials said. A nominated representative of D4VD told NBC Los Angeles that the singer was working with the authorities since the body was found. It is not clear why his car was impounded. Celeste was last seen in the Lake Elsinore in April 2024, about 95 kilometers southeast of the center of Los Angeles. She was at the time 13. D4vd (pronounced “David”) is a singer-songwriter in Houston who recorded from music in his sister’s closet to one of Gen Z’s most buzzing artists. His music blends Indie-rock, R&B and Lo-Fi doll, which made him a fresh, genre-bending voice in today’s alt-pop scene. D4vd broke through in 2022 with the hit “Romantic Homicide”, which went on tiktok viral and reached a peak at Number 4 at Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs card. He then followed with ‘Lord with me’, which further sements his moody, emotional style. Each of the two songs picked up more than 1.5 billion streams on Spotify. D4VD has since signed up with Darkroom and Interscope-the home of Billie Eilish and his debut EP “Petals to Thorns” and a follow-up, “The Lost Petals” in 2023. He released his first full-length album, “Waned,” in April. ___ AP Entertainment writer Jonathan Landrum Jr. In Los Angeles, this report contributed.
