Map of industry changed with 'yogi model', record 4000 new factories founded in 2024-25
Lucknow, October 14 (IANS). Uttar Pradesh, once seen as a symbol of backwardness and unemployment, became the new growth center of industries today. The speed at which the state has taken steps to do industrial development led by the chief minister of Yogi Adityanath surprised the entire country. A record 4,000 new factories were set up in Uttar Pradesh in the year 2024-25, which took the total number of factories in the state at a historic level of 27,000. It is not just a statistical achievement, but a symbol of the growing steps of the new Uttar Pradesh to a self -sufficient India. Yogi government has created such an ecosystem for industries for the past 8 and a half years, which not only attracts investors, but also keeps them busy for a long time. The investment -related processes in the state were made transparent and investor -friendly, which today became Uttar Pradesh the ‘new investment center’ of the country. The factories established here include leading companies in sectors such as electronics, textile, food processing, defense manufacturing, car, chemical and renewable energy. In 2003, there were only 8,980 factories in Uttar Pradesh. In 2021, this number rose to 16.503. This number will increase from 17,481 in 2022 to 19.100 in 2023. It has now reached 27,000 in 2025, which is a significant increase. This growth is not only limited to numbers alone, but is an indication of a structural change in industrial geography. Now investment is not just limited to just Noida, Greater Noida or Lucknow, but has spread it to cities such as Bareilly, Kanpur, Jhansi, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh and Prayagraj. According to the 2023-24 ASI report, Uttar Pradesh reached the fourth position among the top 15 industrial states of the country. By 2023-24, there were 22.141 factories in the state, which were 8.5 percent of the total factories in the country. More than 12.80 lakh workers worked in these units, which were 8.3 percent of the industrial workforce across the country. The annual rate of 16 percent factory growth and increase in the number of workers by 8 percent showed that not only industries in the state are growing, but that jobs are also constantly expanding. The number of 27 thousand factories in 2025 is proof of this. The government aims not only to promote urban industrial development, but also rural industrialization. Steps such as grants, training, financial aid and export facilities have been taken to encourage MSME units and local artisans. Today, small industries in many rural areas strengthen the roots of self -sufficient India. This industrial story of Uttar Pradesh becomes not only an example of development, but also of trust, transparency and change. -—IANS SK/ABM
