'Teri Meherbaniyaan' completes 40 years, Jackie Shroff refreshes old memories

Mumbai, October 18 (IANS). Veteran Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff’s iconic film ‘Teri Meherbaniyaan’ completed 40 years of its release. At this special event, Jackie shared the memories of his super hit film with fans. He shared a clip of a memorable scene from the film on Instagram, captioning it, “40 years of the film Teri Meherbaniyaan.” Released in 1985, ‘Teri Meherbaniyaan’ was directed by Vijay, while the film featured KC Bokadia. This film with Jackie Shroff and Poonam Dhillon in the lead roles was a super hit at the box office at the time. The story of the film was based on the deep relationship between a man and his loyal dog Moti. The relationship between Jackie and Moti on screen was as loving and friendly as the film touched the audience’s hearts. In the film, Moti takes revenge on his master’s killers and becomes the most memorable character of the film. A famous story related to the shooting of the film is that the actor was once bitten by Moti (whose real name was Brownie). Actually, as soon as Brownie rested while sitting on a chair in place of the actor, when Jackie came there and as soon as he pulled the chair to sit, Brownie bit the actor. Moti’s character was so important in the film that the shooting did not start until ‘Moti Sahab’ reached the set. This incident is still a topic of discussion among Jackie’s fans. ‘Teri Meherbaniyaan’ is remembered not only for its story but also for Jackie’s strong acting and Moti’s loyalty. At the same time, the song ‘Aaja Meri Jaan’ from the film remains on people’s lips even today. –IANS PS/ Share this story Tags
