Apple aims to manufacture most of America's iPhone devices in India

Apple intends to import most of the iPhone devices that sell it in the United States from India by the end of next year, in a move that accelerates China’s abandonment with the aim of reducing the risks associated with customs duties and geopolitical tension. According to people who are familiar with the matter, who have asked not to reveal their identity during internal plans to achieve this goal, “Apple” should double the production of “iPhone” devices in India. Apple sells more than 60 million “iPhone” devices in the US market annually. This plan is the latest indicator of accelerating “Apple” and its suppliers for their transformation from China to India, a process that began when strict closing procedures caused the kofid’s pandemic to disrupt production with its biggest factories. The customs duties imposed by US President Donald Trump, together with the tension between Beijing and Washington, contribute to the push of Apple to strengthen this transformation. The US demand for iPhone telephones did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Apple representatives in India. The Financial Times reported earlier that Apple’s goal is that all iPhone devices sold in the United States come from India by the end of 2026. Bloomberg News has previously published a report stating that Apple plans to give an increasing priority to the iPhone produced in the Indian supply chain to meet US demand. According to a “Bloomberg” report this month, the value of the “iPhone” devices that the company, which is based in Cuperno, California, ended it in India $ 22 billion in the twelve months, which collected an increase in production by about 60% compared to the previous year. Apple currently makes 20% of its iPhone devices, that is, one in five devices, in the country in South Asia, while China remains its largest production base with a big difference. Most of the “iPhone” manufactured devices in India are compiled in a factory of the “Foxconn Technology” group in the south of the country. The electronic manufacturing arm of the “Tata” group, which acquired the operations of the local company “Westeron” and runs the activities of “Begatron” business in India, is also a major murder. Of the total Indian production, Apple exported the iPhone devices of 1.5 trillion rupes ($ 17.5 billion) from the region during the financial year ending in March 2025, according to what the Indian Minister of Technology announced on April 8. The fees accelerate “Apple” shipping from India announced the “iPhone” shipping of India to the United States after Trump announced in February. His plan has the SO -SO -COOMS “Mutual Festival”. The average production and export of “Apple” from India increased during the financial year to March. Earlier this month, the Trump administration released electronic goods, including smartphones and computers, from mutual fees. This is a good news for companies such as “Apple”, although the exemption does not include the separate 20% fees that Trump imposed on China for the purpose of pushing Beijing to reduce “fentanel” smuggling. It also means that the iPhone made in India will not be imposed on any customs duties at the moment. With the exception of the exemptions announced on April 11, the cumulative fees that Trump imposed on China are still 145%, and companies like Apple are likely to reinforce their efforts to convert supply chains. Apple is now some “iPhone” phones in India, including the most expensive titanium models of the “pro” category. The company utilizes its manufacturing success within the world’s most populated country, inhabited by government incentives related to the ambition of Premier Narendra Modes to turn the country into a global industrial center.
