The Attorney General said about the alleged refugee Riza Chalid who has 2 passports

Jakarta – The Indonesian Attorney General’s office revealed that he did not receive information that the fleeing suspect Mohamad Riza Chalid (MRC) had two passports. The Ago said it has recalled Riza Chalid’s passport issued from Indonesia so far. “Well, I don’t know. Well, if the person in question has (two passports), we have not received definite information until now whether the person concerned has two passports or not,” Tuesday (7/10/2025) Head of the Indonesian Attorney General of the Penkum Anang Supriatna explained to journalists. “But what is clear is that we still process the person in question as a suspect in the case of crude oil for MRC,” he continued. Browse to continue with the content, his party also confirmed that they had recalled Riza Chalid’s passport and applied for the issuance of a red notice. He explained that the recall of his passport was to limit Riza Chalid’s movement while fleeing. “In principle, the recall of their passport limits their movement. If they are in another country, we will localize their efforts,” Anang said. Riza Chalid’s status was automatically illegal in other countries after his passport was revoked. Anang revealed that Riza Chalid had only two choices, namely returned to Indonesia or too much (exceeded the validity period of his residence permit) in another country. “The choice for those involved as they return to Indonesia is to have a SPLP letter (travel letter like a passport) that is valid for only one trip or if they stay in the country, they will be too much and illegal,” Anang said. Anang said the recall of Riza Chalid’s passport does not cancel their Indonesian citizenship immediately. He said that Riza Chalid is now unable to travel to other countries, or that he has illegal status in the country in which he lives. “First, it must be understood that the person concerned does not automatically lose their Indonesian citizenship. Only by recalling the passport, according to the regulations, he cannot travel to another country,” he said. “It is fitting that their residence permit in another country should also be revoked by the government where they are located, because the basis for granting a residence permit is the existence of a passport document,” he added. Riza Chalid has been charged as a suspect in alleged corruption and alleged money laundering (TPPU). So far, the Ago has confiscated a number of assets belonging to Riza Chalid.
