Union Agriculture, Minister of Farmers and Minister of Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, participated in the Rabi workshop and agricultural advice dialogue in Patna during the visit to Bihar Saturday. Chauhan, who addresses agricultural scientists, advisors and farmers in the program, said that agriculture is the backbone of India’s economy and that farmers are his soul. Serving farmers is like worshiping God. The Minister of Agriculture, reminiscent of the agricultural change, said: “There was a time when India used to import red wheat from the US under the PL-480 program. Today, our food stores full of wheat and rice and India are able to export food grains to other countries.” He credited this progress to the tireless efforts of the Boers and the significant contribution of agricultural advisors. He appreciated the role of agricultural advisors, saying that the achievements of research laboratories never reached the ground level. He said that the government recognized the need and importance of agricultural advisors and was fully committed to protecting their respect and interests. The Bihar Minister in Pulse and Maize Production, which emphasizes the capacity of Bihar, said that India will achieve self -sufficiency in the production of Pulse missions and agricultural advisors will play an important role in this effort. He also mentions an increase in the recently sanctioned minimum support price (MSP) by the Union Cabinet. During the program, Union Minister Shavaj Singh Chauhan said that Prime Minister Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana, which was launched led by Premier Narendra Modi, aims to increase agricultural productivity in the districts where production is low, including many Bihar districts. He said that 11 departments under this scheme will work together and coordinate so that agricultural production can be increased. Referring to the principle of the Prime Minister, the national interest paramount (Nation First), Chauhan insisted that India will never jeopardize the interests of its farmers.
