Digital Desk, New -Delhi. Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand reached Delhi in the first leg of her three-nation visit on Sunday. Here he met his Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar on Monday, expecting discussions about bilateral strategic collaboration in the field of trade, energy and security. She will go to China and Singapore from here. This is the first visit of Anand to India after adopting the post of Foreign Minister in May. She will also meet Piyush Goyal, Minister of Trade, and discuss ways to boost bilateral trade relations. Positive momentum in the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India-Canada, Randhir Jaiswal, said: “This visit will help maintain the positive momentum in India-canada relationships by reviving our bilateral mechanisms, deepening economic cooperation and strengthening the sustained people-to-people who endorse our partnership.” Anand will also visit Mumbai and discuss the ways in which both countries work to promote investment, job creation and economic opportunities in Canada and India. About three weeks ago, Canada’s NSA Nathalie Drouin visited India.
