The crime branch of Delhi police arrested a Patiala man in Punjab who called himself a colonel of the army and cheated on the youth in the name of an apartment and shop in the Army and the Welfare Organization for the Army (AWHO). The accused cytaram Guofta alias Sitaram Singla, 77 years old, has been hidden from the police for the past few years and he hid in an old house and left his entire family. The accused was set apart on a charge of fraud, Delhi crime branch arrested the accused on Saturday. A case of fraud was registered against the accused at the Vivek Vihar police station in Delhi in 2007. The victim Anil Nigam, who is a bank employee of Vivek Vihar, complained that the accused described himself as a colonel of the army placed in Delhi and cheated on 56 thousand rupees in the name of an apartment in the Army welfare organization. According to the victim, the accused also gave receipts after taking the money, but in the investigation she appears to be false. After this, Vivek Vihar police registered a case and arrested the accused, and also filed a charge sheet against him in the Karkardooma Court. However, the accused received bail, after which he escaped and the court declared him a refugee. According to a false college police, made from the work of an oil contractor in the army, Sitaram Gufta was born in Mandi Dabwali in the Sirsa district of Haryana. Later, his family started living in the Mansa district Punjab. He did a mother in Pardi Shastra of Punjab University and was also a professor at former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. In the early stages, he used to contract oil supply to the army. He started oil on the army in different cantoners across India. During this, he obtained the rank, recruitment process and other internal information from army officers. In 1987 he moved to Delhi and started working as a oil contractor. After this, he began to cheat on the youth by calling himself an army colonel. Delhi police have arrested the accused DCP Apoorva Gupta of the Delhi police crime branch, said the accused would be arrested and jailed. He said the accused was involved in many fraud cases and that the police were investigating his activities in depth. Police also recovered false documents and other materials used to cheat on the accused. Right now, the accused will be produced in court and will be taken strictly against him.
