The congress raised the question of dissolution of the Manipur meeting, called Double Engine Government a failure

Imphal, October 13 (IANS). The President of the Manipur Congress, Keesham Meghchchandra, claimed the Manipur meeting on Monday immediately and held fresh elections. He described the BJP -Led Double Engine government as a complete failure. Meghchchandra, who held a press conference at the Bhawan congress in Imhal, said there has been no improvement in law and order or development in the state since the imposition of the president’s rule on February 13, which has now been extended for a second term. He regretted that the necessary schemes had not yet been implemented and that Manipur was facing a serious financial crisis. The MPCC chief accused the BJP and its allies of deceiving the public by giving false insurance to form the government. He said that the people of Manipur BJP rejected. Internally dissatisfied persons (IDPs) suffer in relief camps, as the rehabilitation scheme announced by the then secretary secretary PK Singh still has to be implemented. He said that Congress is demanding immediate dissolution of the meeting and holding new elections. Meghchchandra emphasized that people are disappointed and that there is no hope in the double engine government. He further said that Congress also considered going to court in terms of section 174 of the Constitution to ask clarity on the status of the present meeting, which he described as uncertain and ineffective. In addition, he also condemned the demolition of historic Manipur Rajbari in Shillong and explained the issues raised by the NPP president. MPCC president K. Meghchchandra Singh strongly condemned the demolition of historic Manipur Rajbari in Redlands, Lamukhara, Shillong. He said that this site is historically, political and emotional to the people of Manipur very important, as Maharaja Bodhchandra Singh lived here in September 1949 during the signing of Manipur Same Melting Agreement with India. They demanded that the government of India and the government of Meghalaya immediately make the circumstances under which the demolition took place.
