A Delhi court on Thursday issued a rootable warrant against Tihar Prison superintendent for failing to jail for the petition of the Middlestian Michelle James in the Agustawestland case. Special Judge Sheev Aggarwal summoned the officer on May 29 for the reason not to follow the order. The order comes on James’ petition requesting his safety arrangements in prison to draw up the findings of the investigation report on August 29, 2019. James claimed that the report said that there was no threat to any prisoner in Tihar-Jail No-1 and that he never felt such a threat. The prison authorities denied his allegations that he was jailed with a ‘dangerous accused’, against which 41 charges were filed against his actions in prison. The judge said that the notice was issued by the Director -General (Prison) to the prison superintendent in question, “but despite the guard until 11.15 hours, no report came from jail officials.” The order reads: “Under these circumstances, a rootable warrant of Rs 5,000 is issued against the superintendent of the prison number 4 of Tihar, New Delhi, a rootable warrant of Rs 5,000 by DG (jail), in which the instructions are given that he should submit an answer on April 30.
