Ranchi, October 14 (IANS). A big decision was made on the new system of discussion for municipal elections in Jharkhand. During its meeting on Tuesday night, the state cabinet approved the Triple Test Report of the Backward Class Commission and decided to implement the new structure of discussing seats in municipal bodies. Now seats will be reserved for the OBC category in all 48 municipal bodies of the state. The percentage discussion in each district will be decided on the basis of the Triple Test report. Cabinet secretary of Dana Date said that a decision was made to implement childcare leave for teachers and employees of colleges and universities of the state. Under the new system, not only female employees will not only be able to use female employees, but also single -male employees the benefit of childcare leave to 730 days during their service period. This step is considered an important initiative of the state government to balance the family life and professional responsibilities of the employees working in the education sector. In addition, the Cabinet also made many important decisions. 3 percent DA increase has been approved for government officials and pensioners receiving the seventh salary scale from 1 July 2025. Now the beloved allowance they receive will be increased from 55 to 58 percent. At the meeting, approval was granted to the establishment of science laboratories in 480 government schools. Approval was given to the release of Rs 166 Crore of the State Use Fund under the Disaster Management Plan, Rs 55 Crore for the erection of a new building as a modern institute in the government’s Polytechnic, Jamshedpur and Rs 31 Crore for the Godda District Barrage Scheme.
