New -delhi, June 6 (IANS). A Delhi court held former coal secretary HC Gupta on Friday; Former joint secretary, CoAL, KS Crofa; And the then Director, Coal Award, KC Samaria acquitted. The Rouse Avenue Court has convicted the company Jas Infrastructure Capital Private Limited (JICPL) and the then Director of Manoj Kumar Jaiswal for the crime of fraud and criminal conspiracy. Special Judge Sanjay Bansal will hear the argument about the sentence period on July 8. The case was registered after a preliminary investigation conducted by the Central Bureau of Inquiry (CBI) on the context of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) in the case of coal block award to private enterprises. The allegation in the case was that Jicpl incorrectly offered the facts in his application form to be eligible and to get an unfair advantage in collusion with unknown civil servants. To increase its claim for the allocation of coal blocks, Jicpl ‘fraud’ claimed it was a company (SPV) founded for the Inspector Iron and Steel Industries Private Limited and IL & FS Group. Without this deception, the company is not pre -qualified to recommend the Union Electricity Ministry. Preliminary investigation revealed that the officials of the Ministry of Coal did not investigate documents related to the facts related to the facts intentionally and objectively under the criminal conspiracy and thus helped the private company to gain an unfair advantage in the award of Mahuagari coal blocks.
