The DPR is confirmed that the Ri-Russian extradition bill is a law

Jakarta – The Indonesian parliament has approved the draft law for the ratification of an agreement between the Republic of Indonesia Russia’s federation regarding extradition. This decision was made during the 6th Plenary Assembly of the Trdy I Trid for session 2025-2026. The meeting was held on Thursday (2/10/2025) in the plenary room of the Nusantara II building, Senayan, Central Jakarta. This ratification was taken during a planning meeting attended by 426 members of the Indonesian Parliament. The meeting is chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian Parliament Sufmi Dasco Ahmad. The speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Saan Mustopa and Cucun Ahmad Syamsurizal, was also present. Thereafter, Dasco requested the approval of the participants in the session. “Is the draft law (bill) on the ratification of an agreement between the Republic of Indonesia Russian Federation on extradition approved to be approved as a law?” Dasco asked. “Agree,” the participant replied to the session followed by the verdict of ratification. Previously, the House of Representatives Commission XIII agreed with the government on the draft law (bill) on the ratification of an agreement between the Republic of Indonesia and the Russian Federation regarding extradition to be ratified as a law. A total of 8 factions in the House of Representatives Commission XIII agreed on this. Deputy Minister Eddy Hiariaj said the president wrote to the Speaker of the Indonesian Parliament about the discussion of the Ri-Russian extradition bill. In his letter, the President assigned the Minister of Foreign Affairs by Menhum to become a government representative in the discussion. “That the bill was transferred to the Speaker of the DPR on June 5, 2025, and in the letter the president assigned the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Law, individually and together to represent the president in discussing the draft law with the Indonesian parliament,” Eddy said in a meeting on Monday (9/22). Eddy said that the government and parliament, together with the increasing intensity of relations between countries and border interactions, are needed to regulate international cooperation.
