Odisha: CM Majhi reviewed the schemes of women's and child development section

Bhubaneswar, May 21, (IANS). Odisha chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi has reviewed two important initiatives of the women’s and child development division ‘Ama Padhiba Am Bhasre’ (we will learn in our language) and the upcoming chief minister Kanya Vivah Yojana at the Bhawan public service. Currently, early childhood education in 17 tribal languages ​​is transferred in 10,629 Anganwadi centers in 15 districts Odisha. These languages ​​include Desia, Bhumij, Banjara, Gondi, Ho, Sadri, Khadia, Bonda, Munda, Koya, Kuvi, Kui, Saura, Santhali, Oraon, Kisan and Juang. Odisha is the first state in the country to implement early childhood education on the mother -tongue by Anganwadi centers, in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020 and which emphasizes multilingual basic education. During the review, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi advised the authorities to publish illustrated books that show and use local goods, animals and children in the area. He emphasized that teaching in mother tongue at basic level increases the child’s confidence and increases his interest in learning. Chief Minister Majhi also emphasized the need for more training for Anganwadi workers to make this initiative more effective. He said the program started in 2014, but it must be reinforced. The review also included the Chief Minister Majhi Kanya Vivah Yojana, who aims to provide assistance to the families of economically weaker divisions by reducing the financial burden of their daughters. Chief Minister Majhi proposed to include widowed daughters in the scheme and instructed the department to arrange a gift for the government for the brides. He also recommended to organize the marriage at the community level and instructed the authorities to speed up the implementation of the scheme. In the current financial year, an award of Rs 12 crore for this scheme was made. Odisha already has different schemes that provide marriage aid to people with disabilities, inter -caste couples and workers by the relevant departments. The new scheme will serve as a comprehensive support system for poor, underprivileged and economically weaker families.
