Ranchi, October 17 (IANS). The state’s first tiger safari is soon to begin in Jharkhand. Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday witnessed the presentation of the proposed Tiger Safari project in Putuwagarh area of Latehar district at his residential office on Kanke Road and gave several important directions to the officials. This will be the first tiger safari project in Jharkhand to be developed outside the Palamu Tiger Reserve (PTR) area. Land has been selected for the project. Under the plan, this safari will be developed in the area near Betla National Park, which will provide new life opportunities to the local people of Daltonganj, Barwadih and Mandaldam areas. The Chief Minister was informed that the Tiger Safari project will be prepared in accordance with all the prescribed standards. This project will not only boost tourism but will also be an important link in the development of eco-tourism circuit from Netarhat, Betla, Kechki to Mandal Dam under Palamu Tiger Reserve. Officials said that the creation of the safari will give a new dimension to wildlife tourism in the state and provide an attractive opportunity to the tourists to see tigers and other wildlife up close. During the presentation, the Chief Minister took detailed information on various aspects related to the project and instructed the concerned departments to pay special attention to transparency and environmental standards in implementation. He said that this project will not only give a new identity to the tourism sector of Jharkhand but will also become a major source of employment for the local youth. On this occasion, Minister Sudivya Kumar, MLA Kalpana Soren, Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Paritosh Upadhyay, Field Director of Palamu Tiger Reserve SR Natesh, Deputy Director Prajesh Jena, Consultant Ashfaq Ahmed and many other officials were present. –IANS SNC/ABM Share this story Tags
