Those who pay between February 1 and March 31, 2026 receive a 70%discount. The Minister of Water Resources, Pravesh Verma, said: “This is a one -time opportunity. There will be no such scheme in the future, so people should use it.” According to the government, this relief can lead to waiver payments worth about 11,000 crore. The scheme is currently only for domestic consumers; Commercial and government institutions are not included. Blasted accounts worth Lakhs according to Delhi Jal (DJB) data, about 16 Lakh of the 27 Lakh -registered consumers received wrong or bloated accounts over the past few years, especially during and after the pandemic. Many families have stopped making payments, which significantly affects the council’s income. The total outstanding of DJB is £ 87,589 crore. Of these, £ 7.125 crore is the main amount and £ 80,463 is only surcharge. According to an official, consumers can now download the new Bill of the DJB website by importing their KNO (consumer number). Two DJB regional offices were also set up for payment in each constituency of the meeting. The Delhi government has also announced relief to these people who have unauthorized water or sewerage connections. This scheme will remain in effect until January 31, 2026.
