The heroine that makes radio a weapon of independence!

The heroine who makes trending radio a weapon of freedom! Don’t know how many Brave-Viranganas can breathe in the independent India today. But the freedom struggle was not only fought by weapons. Let us know of a heroine of the freedom struggle that fought the freedom struggle on a radio station. The name of this heroine is Usha Mehta. Ushha Mehta was born on March 25, 1920 in Saras Village of Gujarat. Usha’s thoughts were full of patriotism from a young age. Mahatma Gandhi was the ideal of Usha. During her Mumbai studies, Usha heard the speeches of many leaders of the freedom struggle and took inspiration from them. When Mahatma Gandhi requested the ‘Quit India’ movement in August 1942, Usha decided that she would strengthen this movement in an underground way. Usha started a secret radio station called ‘Congress Radio’. Through this radio, Usha conveyed the message of freedom and the speeches of the leaders across the country. Usha’s move upset the British. The British government immediately campaigned to find this secret radio station. To escape from the British, the radio was repeatedly broadcast by changing space, but eventually Usha was caught. Despite strict inquiries and a lot of torture, Ushha Mehta did not disclose the name of her colleagues to the British government, after which Usha stayed in prison for years. For this courage from Usha, after independence, she received much more respect, including Padma Vibhushan. Usha Mehta is still a symbol of patriotism, associated and true sacrifice.
