A Ghaziabad woman was allegedly assaulted on Friday for feeding dogs near her apartment. The incident was captured on camera and became viral on social media. The woman, Yashika Shukla, was allegedly assaulted eight times in about 40 seconds and slapped by a man for feeding stray dogs in a Ghaziabad complex. According to Surbhi Rawat, president of People for Animals, the incident of Brahmaputra Enclave, Siddharth Vihar, Ghaziabad was reported. The accused, Kamal Khanna, said that Surbhi acted like a thug, who intimidates a lonely woman with his dominant behavior at night. “This cruel man has crossed all boundaries of humanity. The poor woman fed quiet hungry stray animals on a street corner as Kamal Khanna approached her and began to harass. When a street dog barked to protect the woman, Kamal Khanna, in an anger, repeatedly slapped, ‘she wrote in her X -mail. In the viral video, Kamal can be seen approaching Yashika, which is seen that steps back and tries to clap her. The woman then asks the person behind the camera to record the incident, to which the man replies, “Yes, take it up.” However, Kamal claimed that the woman hit him first. After the incident, police registered a case and arrested the man, identified as Kamal Khanna, NDTV reports. The incident came hours after the Supreme Court changed its order on stray dogs, and the ruling that dogs were picked up under the command of August 11 should be released to sterilization and immunization, with the exception of those suffering from rabies or displaying aggressive behavior. An earlier order by a bank with two Supreme Court judges prevented the authorities from releasing the stray dogs and warned against contempt proceedings in the case of laxity.
