Kanhaiyalal’s son Yash Teli took three resolutions in memory of his father – not plunged the legs, stayed barefoot and not cut hair – and all three are still determined. After this horrific murder on June 28, 2022, Yash promised that he would not plunge the ashes of his father until the accused was sentenced to death. They also stay barefoot and have not even cut their hair for the past three years. He says, “The soul of the Father will not gain peace until justice is received.” Resentment over the slow justice process expressed Yash dissatisfaction that the case, despite three years, was not taken in the Fast Track Court. There has been no trial over the past six months. Yash said the date of one month is declining and despite the seriousness of the case, the court is not held. Some accused have received bail that NIA has so far filed a charge sheet against 11 accused. Two of these accused – Farhad Mohammad alias Babla and Mohammad Javed – received bail from the NIA Court and High Court respectively. Yash disputed Javed’s bail in the Supreme Court, on which a notice was issued in November 2024. NIA investigation continues, two accused still arrested chief accused Riyaz Attari and Gaus Mohammad after the relentless incident. The NIA, which considers it a terrorist incident, has registered a case under the UAPA. In the investigation, two accused residents of Pakistan, Salman and Abu Ibrahim are absolutely. There were a total of 9 arrests, but no one has been punished so far. The most important accused Riyaz Attari and Gaus Mohammad were arrested after Kanhaiyalal’s store incident.
